From the East

Dear Brethren:

First I would like to offer my most sincere thanks to our Wardens Bro. Norris and Bro. Weaver for their commitment this year thus far. The duties of Master can at times be overwhelming and it's nice to know that our lodge has qualified brethren to assist me in the completion of them.

Next I would like to address what feels like a rising trend in our organization. I receive countless calls from our brethren explaining for various reasons why they find it difficult to fulfill their Masonic duties, or attend lodge. On this topic I will only say one thing, IT'S OK ! As freemasons we value a man's personal integrity, first and foremost to the care of his own livelihood and family. In today's tough economic times I would only expect that our brethren take the comfort and stability of their home as a priority above all others. Masonry expects no more than an man is able to give, but also expects a man to give when he is able. I can only encourage you to seek the assistance of your brethren whenever you need it, that's what a Masonic Family is for!

In closing I would like to encourage more open lines of communication between ourselves via electronic means or otherwise. Our organization as a whole is attempting as we speak to further improve such communication. Freemasonry in this area has a great many opportunities for participation that may be over looked. I highly encourage each one of you to seek these appertains whenever time permits.

Fraternally yours,

John Patrick Clair
Worshipful Master
