From the East

Dear Brethren:

With the New Year and holidays well behind us, and spring on the way, it is time that we bear down on the business of our fraternity. Last month, we had the pleasure of hearing a representative from Habitat for Humanity speak at our Lodge. I think we could all agree that this worthwhile cause is deserving of our support. In the next few months, we will be encouraging our brethren at Cherrydale and our brethren throughout the district to join us in this philanthropic effort.

Our committees have made leaps and bounds in putting forth the seeds of change at Cherrydale. Look forward in the coming months to projects dealing with lodge restoration and the overall appearance of our facility.

Ritualistically, we have a great amount of work before us. With so many candidates in waiting, the responsibility will need to fall on each and every brother. In a short period of time, Cherrydale Lodge has come a long way towards reaching our ultimate goal of being self-sufficient in all of our degree work. I encourage every brother to continue working in this regard as we will reap the dividends of your hard work for years to come.

In closing, Brethren, I believe Van Gough said it best:

“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.”

If each and every one of us does just a few small things a great lodge can be made even better.

Fraternally yours,

John Patrick Clair
