| Our Masonic
year is winding to a close. We have raised many candidates to Master Mason this year and presently have
about 9 candidates waiting for Degree Work. Currently we have Fellowcraft Degrees scheduled for
Wednesday, 1 November and Monday, 6 November. You are encouraged to attend these called communications
to support our new brothers. This past month we had our Annual founders Night at Cherrydale Lodge. Right Worshipful Howard Michael Sobel from ACG Lodge and chairman Committee for Masonic Home Ambassadors was our speaker. He spoke on services available for the residents of the Masonic Home of Virginia. Our overall donations for this year was low and the Lodge did not have enough funds donated to procure a Leaf to be placed on the Tree Of Life in The Masonic home to honor one of our members. The widow of Worshipful Mark T. Hess, Past Master Of Cherrydale Lodge for the year 1971, made a donation to a obtain a leaf to be placed on the Tree Of Life to honor her late husband. For our second stated for October, I spoke on the connection between the Rosicrucians, Knights Templar, and Masonic Lodge. Our first stated on 2 November will feature Most Worshipful Stewart Wilson Miner, Past Master of Cherrydale Lodge 1965; Grand Master of Virginia 1974 and Past Grand Secretary for the District Of Columbia, will discuss the resolutions to be voted on at the forthcoming Grand Lodge in Richmond, 8-12 November. MWOR Miner will also provide his recommendations as to how Cherrydale Lodge should vote on these resolutions. Again, I am leaving our second stated communication, 15 November, open for addition degree work for our new candidates. LOOKING AHEAD
