From the East

Dear Brethren:

Cherrydale has had a very productive month. During our First Stated communication we had numerous petitions to vote on. All were voted clear; now we have to assemble casts to work these and other candidates through the degrees. As we have degrees scheduled for these candidates it would make a good impression on these new prospective members if we had a good turnout of brothers.

During our second Stated Communication we had a fantastic speaker in WOR Jay Patterson. Jay provided an excellent talk and video on what it like to be a member of the White House Press Corps.
Jay helped us as the Official photographer and reporter for our recent Past Grand Masters Night. This event will be a feature article in the Next Virginia Masonic Herald.

We are still receiving donations for the Masonic Home to present to the Grand Lodge representative at annual Founder Night, Thursday October 5th. Mrs. Margaretta Hess, the widow of Worshipful Mark T. Hess, Past Master Of Cherrydale Lodge for the year 1971, made a donation to obtain a leaf to be placed on the Tree of Life at the Virginia Masonic Home to honor her late husband.

Looking Ahead....
5 Oct - Founders Night; RWOR Howard Sobel, PDDGM and Chairman for the Grand Lodge Committee for Masonic Home Ambassadors

19 Oct - Stated. Program left open to accomplish Degree Work

28 Oct - Scottish Rite Reunion

2 Nov - MWOR Stu Miner, PGM and PM Cherrydale Lodge, recommendations of the forthcoming Grand Lodge Resolutions to be taken up at the upcoming Virginia Grand Lodge meeting

10-12 Nov - Grand Lodge Meeting in Richmond, VA

Fraternally yours,

Richard Earle Robinson,
Worshipful Master
