The month of May has been a fantastic month for
Cherrydale Lodge.
Worshipful John Stone raised his son John Stone lll to the degree of Sublime Master Mason.
Dr. Varghase, Director Of Public Health Services for Arlington provided an excellent talk on Pandemic
Flu. Dr. Varghase received and answered many excellent questions from the brethren and guests.
Cherrydale Lodge Had a private tour of The Southern Jurisdiction Scottish Rite Mason House Of the Temple
in Washington. We had 11 brethren, wives, and candidates participate in this excellent tour. Many of us
then had lunch in a nearby restaurant.
Our second Stated Communication was a joint communication with Sharon Lodge. Most Worshipful Don Robey
PGM Virginia 1987 drove up from central Virginia to present Most Worshipful L. Robert Baker PGM District
Of Columbia 1987 and a member of both Cherrydale and Sharon Lodges his 50 year pin. MWOR Brother Baker
was raised 04/12/1951. Among the Brethren who attended this August event were The Grand Master for the
District Of Columbia and 3 other Past Grand Masters for Virginia and the District Of Columbia. We had 4
other brothers who have earned their 50 year pins and were unable to attend this ceremony. Arrangements
will be made to award these brothers their pins at a future date. These brothers are: Brother Charles
Robert Rambo, Raised 09/22/1953; Brother Elder Lee Cross, Raised 07/08/1954; Brother Andrew Aatos
Luhtanen; Raised 06/20/1955; and Brother John Charles Bucur, Raised 03/23/1956.
On our 1 June Stated Worshipful Brent Morris will be our speaker. WOR Brent Morris will be discussing
his new book “The Complete Idiots Guide To Freemasonry”. Copies of this book will be available for
purchase.
On our 15 June stated Worshipful Rev. F. Reed Brown Past master Cherrydale Lodge, Grand Organist For the
Grand Lodge Of Virginia and The Southern Jurisdictions Scottish Rite will be our speaker for our Holy
Saint Johns Night.

Masters Night to honor our own Past Grand Master Most Worshipful Stewart Wilson Miner, PGM 1974, Past
Master Cherrydale Lodge, 1965.
Most Worshipful George Harry Chapin PGM 1999 will serve as the Worshipful Master. MWOR John Robert “Bob”
Dean PGM 1992 will serve as Senior Warden. MWOR John Randall Quinley PGM 2005 will serve as Senior
Warden. MWOR L. Robert Baker PGM DC 1987 will serve as Senior Deacon. MWOR William F. Milton Jr. PGM PH
Virginia will serve as Junior Deacon. MWOR Mansour Hatefi PGM DC and Grand Secretary DC will serve as
Secretary. And David Balcom Grand Chaplin DC will serve as our Chaplin.

Navy Country Club.
» 5 October Cherrydale Founders Night. MWOR James D.
Cole PGM 2001 will be our speaker. This is the night we make our annual donation for the Masonic Home Of
Virginia.
