July-August, 2005

     Summer is finally here and things are slowing down at Cherrydale.  We are very fortunate to have raised three very worthy candidates to the sublime degree of Master Mason, please join me in welcoming Brothers Douglas S. Rosen, John P. Clair, and Joshua E. Gaston to Cherryvale Lodge. I have no doubt that these brethren will work hard in the quarries of Masonry.

     At our stated communication on July 21st, we will have as our guests the members of Mound City Council #6, Junior Order of United American Mechanics.  This I promise will be a very interesting meeting.  The JOUAM have a rich history and have paralleled Masonry for years. Please put this date on your calendar.  You can visit their website at www.jrouam.com.

     Brethren, the Official visit of the MW Grand Master is fast approaching.  We are looking for a great show of support, the Grand Master will visit Cherrydale Lodge on August 4th, dinner will begin at 6 PM, and no reservations are needed.

     The One Day Class will be August 27th at Sharon Lodge.  We start at 7 AM sharp.  If you have any one who may be interested in joining Masonry, please call the secretary and he will forward a petition.  All petitions must be in by July 21st.  My brethren, the is a great opportunity for Cherrydale Lodge to grow.  We need new members and also we need you members who have not been to lodge in a while to come back— the lodge needs you.  If you can only make one or two meetings a year, we would still love to see you.  My brethren, please make a conscious effort to support your lodge.
